Mission Statement

Prime Time Productions strives to strengthen and embody the overall mission of University Housing and Food Service community by developing programs that entertain and enrich the educational and social lives of residence hall students. Members are committed to providing a variety of intentional activities in a welcoming environment that upholds the overall department’s commitment to diversity and social justice. Members are given the opportunity to achieve personal growth, develop leadership skills, and build new relationships throughout the academic year.

Purpose

The purpose of this student organization is to provide late-night, weekend entertainment to all students living in University Housing. PTP brings to the residence halls pre-home released blockbuster movies in their “Dinner then a Movies Series,” comedy shows in their “One Night Stand Comedy Series,” mentalists, hypnotists, and speakers. PTP also provides special events/weeks throughout the year, including Welcome Week, Spirit Week, Parents’ Weekend, and Welcome Back Week.

PTP is supported by each resident who lives in the residence halls so all events are free to residence hall students. Remember – you have already paid for the programs so come out to them. PTP is an active member in the National Association for Campus Activities, thus connecting residents to agents, performers, and other participating schools across the nation.

Residents can seek employment in PTP when applications are given out during the late spring semester. Volunteers, known as producers, are welcomed throughout the year to help with all planning and implementation of events.

PTP Program Coordinators

K LevineKirsten Levine - Assistant Programming Coordinator

Hey all! My name is Kirsten Levine, but I also go by Kiki. I am the Assistant Programming Coordinator for the 2009-2010 academic year! This will be my fifth year being involved with University Housing and Food Service. I lived in University Village my freshman year and was a UV Resident Advisor for three years. As a Resident Advisor I took on the role as one of the UV Hall Council Advisors for two years, and had the honor of holding the position of housing co-chair for Up 'til Dawn. This is my first year being involved with PTP, but I am excited to see how our team grows over the year. I also hope to see all of you at our programs!

K YamashitaKrista Yamashita - Diversity/Social Awareness Coordinator

Hello! My name is Krista Yamashita and this is my first year on PTP staff as the Diversity and Social Awareness Coordinator. However, I am no stranger to UHFS. I worked and lived in the residence halls as a Resident Advisor(RA) at University Village and North Campus for the last two years. During my time as an RA, I felt it was very important to teach about diversity, multiculturalism, and social issues. In this PTP position, I hope to continue to make a difference in our residence halls, while having fun at the same time. This is my fourth year as a Communication Design Major. I look forward to meeting new people at our events and working with my awesome PTP team.

B HopkinsBrittany Hopkins - Public Relations Coordinator

Hello! I am a graduating senior pursuing a degree in journalism with an option in public relations and minor in marketing. This is my third and final year as a PTP board member. I am also the social media intern for the university's Public Affairs and Publications office and an intern with the campus' student-run public relations agency Tehama Group Communications. I have a passion for creating unique advertisements to promote our events, and I hope you are looking forward to this semester's line up as much as I am.

S ReinthalerSam Reinthaler - Lead Technical Coordinator

Hey everybody! My name is Sam Reinthaler, and I'll be one of two technical coordinators, running sound and lighting for all of the movies and acts that PTP puts on. This is my first year working on the PTP team, and my second year at Chico State. I am majoring in electrical engineering, and when I am not putting on events or studying, you can find me working on the Chico State Intelligent Ground Vehicle or making music. That said, when I am putting on events, you can find me in front of you on the right hand side, so don't be afraid to say hi. Hope to see you there!

David Mellons - Multimedia Coordinator

Hey everyone! My name is David Mellons and I am the Multimedia Coordinator. I will be finishing up my degree in Media Art this year and while this is not my first year working for CSU Chico this is my first working for Prime Time Productions. I am in charge of all things multimedia, such as camera/video work, graphic design, and website design, so if you are looking for me at an event I'll be the one behind the camera.
