*Campus open with limited access.
The campus will be open with limited access on December 24 (Tuesday), 30 (Monday), and 31 (Tuesday), 2013.
- The intent of the closure is to encourage non-essential employees to take time off during this time.
- Departments may plan partial or complete closures for December 24, 30, and 31.
- Employees may request leave (CTO, Vacation, or their Personal Holiday) for these days, and
- Employees without sufficient leave may elect not to work, but will receive a pay dock for these days.
On December 24, 30, and 31, the campus will be open but only certain buildings will be accessible. Employees who wish to work on those days will be accommodated. Managers who have employees who want to work on those days are asked to contact Dylan Saake no later than December 6, 2013, to allow ample time for coordinating work locations, supervision, and assignments for employees who wish to work on that day.
Historically, the Governor grants informal time off for half a day on the last campus working day before the Christmas holiday or before the New Year’s holiday. Assuming the Governor again grants this time off, the campus plans to observe this informal time off on December 24, 2013. Non-exempt individuals will need to use a total of 4 hours of vacation leave or CTO to be on paid leave for the entire day of December 24, 2013. Employees whose duties prevent them from taking the time off on December 24, 2013, may make arrangements with the appropriate administrator to take informal time off on any working day before June 30, 2014.
We anticipate many employees will continue to want to take additional time off the week prior to the winter break (December 16-20, 2013). We encourage you to speak with your supervisor to discuss vacation leave and coverage during the days the University will be open.
