CalPERS Hosts Retirement Planning Fair
Learn about your CalPERS benefits and the retirement planning services available to you at a free Retirement Planning Fair in Redding, February 28 – March 1, 2014.
Whether you’re a relative newcomer to CalPERS or retirement is just around the corner, the fair will offer members a wealth of information about their benefits including retirement, health, supplemental savings plans, college savings, long-term care, and more. Representatives from the Sacramento Regional Office will also be on hand to answer questions.
Open both days from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the fair will feature breakout sessions on the following topics – Benefit Basics, Social Security, Health Into Retirement, and Putting Your Deferred Compensation to Work for You sponsored by CalHR’s Savings Plus Program.

More detailed information about the 2014 CalPERS Retirement Planning Fair in Redding is available on CalPERS On-Line. Members are encouraged to pre-register for their preferred fair date to expedite registration check-in and aid CalPERS in planning for staffing and materials, but registration is not required and walk-ins are welcome. Online pre-registration for the fair begins in early February.
Additional CalPERS events are scheduled for spring 2014, beginning with Sacramento, May 9-10; followed by Visalia, May 30-31; and Ontario, June 6-7.

Who is invited? All CalPERS members - from State, local government, special districts, public schools, community colleges, and California State University campuses - are encouraged to attend. Fairs will provide valuable planning information for members who are new to the workforce, are mid-career, or nearing retirement.
