Salary Increases for State Employees - Update 8/20/18

UAPD (Unit 1)

Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD) has completed negotiations for 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 salary and equity increases for its members and the Board of Trustees has ratified the collective bargaining agreements. The Chancellor’s Office (CO) issued the technical letter on July 16, 2018 that defines some campus processing details for the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 increases.

  • Fiscal Year 2017/2018 - Increases were effective July 1, 2017
    • 3% General Salary Increase (GSI) was applied to the individual salary rates of eligible employees. The retroactive portion (July 2017 – June 2018) of the salary increase will be issued on a separate check. This base salary increase was incorporated into the July 2018 paycheck (August 1, 2018 issue date).
    • Equity increase was processed for eligible employees.
  • Fiscal Year 2018/2019 - Increases were effective July 1, 2018.
    • 3% General Salary Increase (GSI) was applied to the individual salary rates of eligible employees. The retroactive portion (July 2018) of the salary increase will be issued on a separate check. This base salary increase will be incorporated into the August 2018 paycheck (August 31, 2018 issue date).
    • Equity increase was processed for eligible employees.

MPP/Confidential Merit Salary Increases

A Merit salary program for Confidential (C99) and Management Personnel Plan (MPP) employees was approved by the Board of Trustees. Awarded increases are effective July 1, 2018 and will be reflected in the September 2018 pay warrant (October 1 issue date). The retroactive portion (July – August 2018) awarded increase will be issued on a separate check.

CSUEU (Unit 2, 5, 7 and 9), APC, APC (Unit 4), Teamsters 2010 (Unit 6)

All State employee salary increases that were effective July 1, 2018 have been processed for eligible California State University Employees Union (CSUEU - Units 2, 5, 7, and 9), Academic Professionals of California (APC – Unit 4) and Teamsters 2010 (Unit 6) employees. Employees can view their pay increase in the portal.

Two locations are available in the Portal to view your salary increases and historical paychecks. On the “State Employee” tab, click the “View Compensation History” link to view the effective date of the increase and the gross amount prior to and after the change. Click the “View Paycheck History” to view your previous month’s paychecks.
