The Labor Relations unit provides a variety of services to the campus community
in order to develop and maintain positive, respectful, and harmonious working
relationships with each of the staff labor unions. The Director of Labor Relations
administers and ensures compliance with all staff collective bargaining agreements,
provides advice and guidance to management on grievances, complaints, contractual
matters and disciplinary issues. In addition, the Director of Labor Relations also
develops campus-wide policies; represents and responds on behalf of Chico State in
administrative hearings; provides conflict resolution in workplace matters; and
trains management in effective labor and employee relations. The Labor Relations
unit is also responsible for monitoring and coordinating union release time and
responding to requests for information.
