Information and Instructions for Requesting a Fee Waiver

The following matrix summarizes information about the fee waiver program options.  Click on an option to get more information as well as instructions for requesting a fee waiver.

Option Description   Student Is Admitted to University As 
Job-Related Coursework Classes taken for the purpose of improving the level of skills needed to perform existing employment (current job)

No Career Development Plan (CDP) needed
Employee Transitory student; must re-apply for admission each term
Career Advancement Option Classes taken for the attainment or enhancement of skills for the purpose of career advancement within the CSU system

Career Development Plan (CDP) approved by HR manager
Employee Transitory student; must re-apply for admission each term
Career Development Option Classes required for credit toward the attainment of an identified academic goal (e.g. a degree, a certificate or a credential)

Career Development Plan (CDP) approved by academic advisor
Employee Matriculated student; current students do not need to be re-admitted each consecutive term
Dependent (or Transfer of Fee Waiver Benefit) Option Provides eligible employees in certain employee categories with the opportunity to transfer their fee waiver benefit to their eligible spouse, dependent child, or domestic partner to attend classes at a CSU campus for reduced rates Dependent (qualifying spouse, domestic partner or
a dependent child)
Matriculated student; current students do not need to be re-admitted each consecutive term
