Supervisory Development Training (SDT) Certificate Program

The purpose of this program is to provide supervisors with the facts, procedures, principles, laws, and basic skills to make good management decisions. Effective management helps to increase the productivity of departments, enhances job satisfaction, increases employee morale, and minimizes liability and risk for supervisors, as well as for the University.

To earn certification, participants must attend all of the core workshops, most of which will be offered throughout the academic year. Although the certification program could be completed in one to two years, it is anticipated that most supervisors will fulfill the requirements within three years.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. How do I find out which courses I’ve completed?
To obtain a list of completed courses, log into the EHS learning management system (LMS) (https://ehstraining.csuchico.edu/) using your campus portal ID and password.  Look under both My Courses > Completed and My Information > My History.  Courses that you signed up for in advance and completed are under the Completed tab.  Courses completed that were entered into the system after they occurred are recorded in the My History section and go back as far as 1995.  (Please note it does not currently include IT training or CSU online training.) Compare these two lists to the courses required for the program.
  2. What if I think I’ve taken a course but it’s not showing up in the EHS LMS (https://ehstraining.csuchico.edu/) under My Courses > Completed or My Information > My History?
E-mail pdev@csuchico regarding SDT courses completed. List the course you believe you’ve completed, the date completed, whether it was on-campus or off-campus, and any documentation or evidence that you have that may help us in researching your attendance for the course.  You are also welcome to send information to Staff HR – Professional Development, Zip 028, KNDL 118.
  3. What if I think I’ve completed all courses needed for the certificate program?
E-mail pdev@csuchico and request a SDT Grad Check.
