Adult Day Health Center is a licensed community-based day care program providing a variety of health, therapeutic, and social services to those at risk of being placed in a nursing home.

Adult Protective Services (APS)

Each county has an APS agency to help elder adults (65 years and older) and dependent adults (18-64 who are disabled), when these adults are unable to meet their own needs, or are victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation.

ElderCollege

ElderCollege is an opportunity for persons age 60 and over to take Chico State classes on a non-credit, space-available basis with the permission of the instructor, for the low cost of $60 per semester. As a guest in the course, you'll gain the knowledge you desire without required homework. ElderCollege is a great way to explore new disciplines and enjoy learning for the joy of it.

Linkages Program 

Helps frail elderly adults and adults with disabilities, age 18 and older, remain in their homes, maximize their independence, and reduce the need for more costly out-of-home care.

Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program 

The primary responsibility of the program is to investigate and endeavor to resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, individual residents in long-term care facilities. These facilities include nursing homes, residential care facilities for the elderly, and assisted living facilities.

National Senior Citizens Law Center 

The center has information about its services, manuals, and publications, as well as information about Social Security and SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, nursing home residents' rights, home care, pension rights, age discrimination and mandatory retirement, and OAA services.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at California State University, Chico 

OLLI is a peer-led, learning in retirement organization that offers a wide variety of non-credit classes and activities for adults, age 60+ or retired.
