About Us

The Instructional Design and Technology Society was started to meet the needs of the Communication Design students studying Instructional Design & Technology. Students from other areas such as Human Resource Management, Psychology, and Education may also find the club to be beneficial. Students from all majors are welcome.

Our Mission

The Instructional Design and Technology Society is an elite group of students collaborating to enhance the value and success of instruction through creative and innovative design. We strive to learn about the corporate world, taking advantage of volunteer job opportunities, internships, field trips and guest speakers. We provide students the opportunity to work with real clients and provide in-kind services that result in tangible solutions.

"No Excuses" & Documentary

CSU, Chico professors John Roussell and Cathrine Himberg are working with students and the Instructional Design and Technology Society to produce a documentary that promotes the importance of providing quality physical education. The film is based at The Children's Storefront School in Harlem, NY. The message is that if quality physical education can be provided here, it can be done anywhere. AS Government & Legislative Affairs Council

Associated Student Government & Legislative Affairs Council

In Fall 2011, IDTS worked alongside the Associated Student Government and Legislative Affairs Council to produce a short film that informed Chico State students about the severity of tuition increases, and encouraged students to join the movement in making a change. Below is the video that was recognized by the California State Student Association (CSSA) as a model and prototype for all CSU campuses. We are proud to announce that we will be working with the council again to develop another film. Videos will be posted here, and on the IDTS Facebook Page. Production is currently underway.

LAC Video

Blue Room Theatre

Chico State IDTS is currently working with the Blue Room Theatre in Downtown Chico to improve the level of performance during show times. Members visited the facility and through collaboration and critical discussion are creating a series of job aids that will assist managers and volunteers alike. The finished project will be posted here. Production is currently underway.
