Photo Challenge Highlights Campus Beauty

In the March issue of Inside Chico State, we asked the Chico State community to submit images of campus and the Chico Experience to our Facebook Cover Photo Challenge. Many responded—and we had the difficult job of culling through entries to pick the ones that best represented the University.

The finalists were featured on the Chico State Facebook page, and our followers picked the winner by “liking” their favorite. The campus trinity of historic brick buildings was a popular subject, as were the vivid colors of spring flowers on campus.

Shannon McCollum, a staff member in Chemistry and Biochemistry, got the most likes for her photograph of Kendall Hall’s rotunda framed by California poppies, the state flower. (The image was recently used to exemplify Chico State in a slideshow in a Huffington Post article about green colleges.) Michael Alonzo’s Kendall spring blossoms—and a bee!—with Kendall Hall in the background was a close runner-up. See the rest in our Facebook album.
