Damario Sims

Damario Sims has left an indelible mark in Chico State athletics history over the past four years. But beyond the buzzer-beating shots is his most-defining aspect: the obligation he feels to be a role model for young people from his hometown of West Oakland. Sims, along with fellow graduating political science major Swan Toma, is responding to an indisputable call on his life to give back. Read more.

Ariel Ellis

Graduating psychology major Ariel Ellis has spent most of her time at Chico State actively changing people’s perceptions about depression and suicide. In like manner, fellow graduating communications design major Dee Thao uses documentary films she creates to shed light on social issues. These two young adults are prepared to change the world through activism and compassion. Read more.
