Scholarships

CSU, Chico is a state-supported public institution funded by taxes paid by California residents. The university, therefore, has little to offer in the way of financial assistance for non-residents. At this time there are only a few small scholarships for international students.

Qualified students are encouraged to apply by submitting an electronic application to the Financial Aid Office at:

The State of California provides a limited number of partial fee waivers for non-resident international students which are offered through the International Student Advisors. These small fee waivers are awarded to qualified students who are making progress toward their degree and who have financial need and those who have been making significant contributions to Chico State and the community. Students apply in the late spring for the next school year. Applications are available around late April and are due June 1st.

The International Student Emergency Short-term Loan program is another source of aid for students who require a small amount of financial help on a temporary basis. Ask an International Student Advisor for details. These loans must be repaid within 90 days.
