Events/Workshops

More exciting things are being planned for the fall 2013 semester!  Check again on August 26.

EVENTS:

New Student Orientation - August 20 - 23

Global Voices

These events are so fun!  A few times each semester, the Office of International Education partners with the Cross-Cultural Leadership Center to put on an event that celebrates a featured culture.  Food, dance, and live entertainment are always part of the fun.  These mini festivals are very well attended by student, faculty, staff, and Chico community members.

International Forum - Once per week during the fall and spring semesters

The INTERNATIONAL FORUM is a one unit course (INST 301), open to all students, which offers diverse perspectives on a variety of international topics through a series of weekly presentations. Students enrolled in the course write short reaction papers to each week's presentations. INTERNATIONAL FORUM presentations are open to the public and campus community and are free of charge.

WORKSHOPS:

Optional Practical Training (OPT) Workshops

F-1 student visa holders who have earned a degree (Bachelors, Masters, Ph.D) may participate in practical training, otherwise known as employment, in their fields of study.  If you are a senior who plans to work after graduation, or are a junior who likes to prepare early, the OPT workshops are for you!  Join James & Cindy, your International Student Advisors, to find out how and when to apply.
