Tuesday, November 15th
International Forum: "A Funny Thing Happened..."
A panel of international students in Chico and U.S. students who have studied abroad will share humorous travel stories regarding the special challenges, mishaps and misunderstandings associated with international travel due to language and cultural differences. The purpose of the forum is to explore unexpected life lessons learned through international travel and study. Moderated by Tasha Dev, Study Abroad and International Exchange Coordinator, and hosted by the CSU, Chico International Forum. Ayres 120, 4-5pm, Free.
Film:"El Clásico: More than a Game"
El Clásico is a CSU, Chico documentary directed and shot by Chico State students. This beautiful film was shot on location in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain, and explores Spanish history, culture and regional identity through the intense and world-renowned soccer rivalry between Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona. A few members of the production team will present the film and answer questions after its showing (50 minutes), popcorn included. SSC 150, 6 p.m. Free.
Wednesday, November 16th
A Ticket to Taste
Presented by UNITE, a Chico State student club, A Ticket to Taste is an international food tasting festival which will allow its guests to sample food from all over the world. This event will also feature a Turkish bazaar type atmosphere and local dance performers. $1 of each ticket will be donated to Feeding Nations Through Education. http://www.feedingnations.org/Welcome.html

Thursday, November 17th
“From California to the Mediterranean: Olives, Olive Oils & Cheeses”
A discussion and tasting of various types of Mediterranean cuisine. Chico State professor Lori Weber will present on the Slow Food Movement in Italy, where she taught abroad for a semester through the University Studies Abroad Consortium. Local companies Lucero Olive Oil & Pedrozo Dairy and Cheese Co. will also speak briefly about the production process for their products and how they might differ from other regions of the world. Samples of California & Mediterranean Olives & Cheeses will be provided. SSC 304, 5:30 – 7 p.m. Free.
