Arabic Professor: Mahmoud Azaz

Selected through the prestigious Fulbright program, Professor Mahmoud Azaz is a visiting professor, teaching Arabic language and culture to Chico students. Professor Azaz is a hard-working individual. He has proven this with his impressive list of degrees: a Graduate Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Teaching Methods, and a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics. While in Chico, he expects to finish the TESOL Graduate Certificate Program from CSU Chico.
In his home country of Eygpt, Professor Azaz has extensive experience in teaching English at institutions such as Information Technology Institute (ITI), EduEgypt Project, Scientific Informatics Research Academy (SIRA) Academy, and the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods at Cairo University.
Viewing himself as an ambassador for his country, Professor Azaz focuses on presenting features of Egyptian culture to his students. He describes living in Chico as an incomparable experience that will have future impacts, as he pursues a career as a university professor back home.
