Blackboard Vista

We have adopted a new enterprise learning management system this year called Blackboard Vista. Vista has a more contemporary web interface that is easier to use, contains more tools, integrates better with the course content for workflow and allows for more customization.

We had 270 faculty take training and migrate their course content to Vista when it launched in Fall 2006. We had 328 course sections in Vista being taught by 155 faculty to over 7000 students.This spring, we have 1011 course sections being taught by 557 faculty to 14,943 students using Vista.

For those faculty still teaching in WebCT Campus Edition,  it is expected that they will move their content to Vista by Fall 2007. The portal will contain only a link to Vista for fall courses. We have created many tutorials for faculty wanting to learn how to use Vista tools "just in time."
