Week 2 Theme: Cybersecurity in the Workplace is Everyone's Business

Dates: October 9-13

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to raise awareness about the importance of cyber security.  Please consider participating in our campus effort to raise awareness surrounding cyber security and privacy this month.  To learn more about NSCAM visit the campus’ National Cyber Security Awareness Month page.

Creating a culture of cybersecurity is essential and a shared responsibility among all employees. Week 2 will showcase how organizations of all types can protect themselves and their employees against the most common cyber threats.

Week 2 activities:

  • PhishMe Campaign – The campus will be initiating a phishing campaign.  No action is required on your part – just be aware the phishing is a key component of more than 90% of every breach. Learn more about this campaign on the Information Security PhishMe page.

  • Make sure you are up to date on your required CSU security awareness course in the DTS ; CHECK NOW HERE!

  • Watch a short cyber security awareness video – The campus has provided more than 50 cyber security awareness videos in a range of topics.  These courses are short 3-5 minutes in duration – Learn more here

  • REMINDER: Student employees, if you have not changed your password yet this semester please do! Passwords that are not changed will expire at the end of the semester.
