California State University, Chico offers high-quality academic programs in a safe and comfortable environment. Established in 1887, the Chico campus is part of a system of twenty-three accredited institutions known as The California State University. This system of public education is recognized and respected throughout the world.
CSU, Chico is noted for its distinguished faculty who have brought recognition to the University by their excellence in teaching, research, and creative accomplishments. Small classes and personalized academic advising ensure personal contact between students and faculty.
When international students arrive in Chico, they discover one of the most beautiful university campuses in California. Through the center of campus runs the Big Chico Creek. Many students enjoy studying under the trees alongside the flowing waters of the creek.
The University borders a charming downtown area with many convenient coffee shops, banks, restaurants, and stores. Within a few minutes walk of the University, students can find a wide range of restaurants including pizza, sandwiches, hamburgers, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Thai, Mexican, and much more. Stores close to campus offer clothes, jewelry, sporting goods, bicycles, gifts, hardware, food, and household goods. Because Chico’s public buses are free to students, it is easy to travel around the city.
