Welcome to CSUC ITE News and Events:

Event:

38th Annual Vendors' Night

*When: March 17, 2011

* Open display of Products

*Time: 2:00pm to 6:00pm

*Place: Hutchins Street Square, Lodi, CA

Student Responses from Vendor Night:

The event held in Lodi, CA was very informative on new traffic signal and lighting. It was a great place to network with engineers in the Northern California region. Some of the new equipment out there are cameras that were able to determine traffic counts as well as replace loops for traffic phasing. This event was very informative and was grateful for the oppurtunity to be a part of this event.

California Transportation Foundation Symposium

*Time:          12:00pm to 1:30pm

*Place:         At the Chaminade, Santa Cruz, CA

Student Responses From Symposium:

The symposium was an experience that has changed my perspective of how I view people in the engineering profession.  The request for proposal presentation that our group set forth was accomplished like all of the other groups in the conference. We used all of the information that we have learned as engineering, planning and finance students and set forth the process that all proposals go through.  Using the mentor’s knowledge and team work our group ended up winning but all of the groups went above and beyond the abilities of any mock engineering company.

"Philip Roper"

The CTF symposium was a great learning and networking experience. It showed me that transportation engineering can be challenging and exciting. The opportunity we got to network with high ranking officials from some of the largest engineering companies in the country is priceless.I am grateful for the opportunity and would recommend the symposium to everyone.
"Carlos Estrada"

The symposium was the coolest school related function I have ever been to. The food was great, the people were great, and the hotel was extremely classy. The professionals opened up to all of us and answered any questions we had. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that should not be passed up. I walked away from the symposium with at least nine different business cards from some of the most successful people in the engineering field. Some of the connections that were made at the symposium will last a lifetime. The symposium gave me a renewed confidence and provided me with some skills that the classroom couldn't teach me.
