2009 Inductees

Dave Fanucchi

Dave Fanucchi is a 1993 journalism graduate and is currently the director of communications, public relations for the United States Golf Association. He was the press officer for the gold-medal winning 2000 USA Baseball Olympic Team in Sydney, Australia, during his tenure as the director of communications for USA Baseball from 1999-2006. While at Chico State, Fanucchi started the sports broadcasting department at KCSC in 1991, which helped launch the career of KPAY's Mike Baca—¬ the voice of the Wildcats. He was also a sports writer for The Orion and interned at both KHSL-TV in Chico and KRON-TV in San Francisco.

Chris Hammond

Chris Hammond is Wells Fargo & Co.'s senior vice president and regional banking communications director. He is responsible for strategic development and implementation of Wells Fargo's communications initiatives throughout northern and central California. He has served with Wells Fargo's Bay Area Community Support and United Way Campaign board as communications chair. Last year he helped the company raise a record $6.6 million for schools and nonprofits. Before joining Wells Fargo, he worked at Ketchum Public Relations where he supported Visa, Levi Strauss & Co., Clorox and PricewaterhouseCoopers accounts. At Chico State, Hammond was both the business manager and production manager for Tehama Group Communications and the publicity coordinator for the Associated Students.

Amy Swanson

Amy Swanson is senior vice president of OutCast Communications where she provides executive counsel, industry perspective and creative media relations to technology clients from startups such as Zimbra and LiveOps to established powerhouses such as Amazon, Facebook and Yahoo! Her experience driving corporate communications programs resulted in product and executive placements on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Today Show, as well as on the covers of The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. Before OutCast, she worked for Oracle Corp. where she managed the corporate communications team, international media relations and the bid to purchase PeopleSoft. While attending Chico State, Swanson was a member of Tehama Group Communications and the International Association of Business Communicators.
