celebrates 25th anniversary, Tehama Group Communications celebrates 10th
To celebrate these milestones, the department
of journalism sponsored a week of events in April
including speakers, activities and a job fair.
Pulitzer winning journalist visits Chico
Sacramento Bee columnist Diana Griego Erwin spoke of winning
a Pulitzer Prize as a first-year journalist.

During the past 25 years, The Orion has covered
many important and interesting topics - the best of
which were put together in the special anniversary
edition.

School of Communication Awards
The School of Communication Awards Banquet was held
May 10 at the Holiday Inn. More than a 125 students,
faculty, staff, parents and friends attended the dinner
to recognize outstanding performance by communication
students from the three academic departments.
Orion
wins national Pacemaker award
The Orion has received
its fifth "Pacemaker" national journalism award in
seven years, making it perhaps the most honored college
newspaper of the decade.
