Jorge Barrientos, content

Jorge will be graduating in May with a journalism degree (news-ed) and a minor in music. His career goals include writing for the Orange County Register and starting his own hip-hop music magazine. A fun fact about Jorge is that he has traveled to 11 countries. In addition to his work on Cat Bytes, Jorge is a reporter (and soon will be news editor) for The Orion, Chico State's award-winning student newspaper. Search for his stories at www.orion-online.net

Ashley Carter is a senior at Chico State majoring in journalism, with an option in public relations, and minoring in women’s studies. She will be graduating in May of 2006; shortly after she is planning to move to New York where she dreams of pursuing a career in PR.

Scott Jason, design coordinator

Scott is a Chico State senior majoring in journalism, with a news-editorial option, and minoring in English. He plans to graduate in December 2005 and currently works as weekend reporter for Chico's Enterprise-Record. He hopes to work at a daily metropolitan newspaper as a reporter after graduation.

Brian Kennedy, design & Cat Bytes logo design

Brian is the photo editor for Chico State's award-winning student-run newspaper, The Orion. Brian has a passion for photojournalism and will most likely work for a daily newspaper after graduating with a bachelor's degree in journalism in May. Brian will be the first member of his family to graduate from a university and will be followed only minutes later by his brother Justin, who is a communication design major.

Chris is graduating in December 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, with an emphasis on public relations, and a minor in creative writing.  For 2006, Chris plans to move to the Bay Area and begin his search for a position at a public relations agency in San Francisco, where he hopes to do PR for tech companies.

Kurt Richter, copyediting

Kurt is a senior at Chico State majoring in journalism, with an emphasis in news editorial. An avid music and sports fan, Kurt would like to be a writer or copy editor for a sports or music magazine. His ultimate aspiration would be to work for Rolling Stone or ESPN- The Magazine. Growing up on the East Coast, Kurt would like to return home for his professional career, after he graduates in January 2007.

Maritza Rodriguez, content

Maritza is a senior at Chico State majoring in journalism with an emphasis in news/editorial and minoring in Latin American studies.  She is fluent in Spanish and hopes to work with Spanish media in print or broadcasting. This summer Maritza plans on traveling throughout Costa Rica and Mexico. In addition to Cat Bytes, Maritza is a writer for The Orion, Chico State’s award-winning newspaper, and is a volunteer for the Jackie Faris-Rees Leadership Program.

Grant Sanregret, content

Grant is a senior at California State University, Chico where he is a journalism major with an emphasis on public relations. Grant will be graduating in May 2006 and hopes to get into the field of sports journalism and broadcasting. Grant currently works for KEWE The Sportsfan 1340 and KPAY News Talk 1290 radio stations. Grant loves to be out doors and is a serious Disc Golf player.

Debbie Schuster, design

Debbie is a senior at Chico State majoring in journalism, with an emphasis in publics relations, and minoring in Sociology. She is president of the Chico State Field Hockey team and a member of Chico State's Sports Club Council. When Debbie is not at Chico State she is a promoter for companies in the the Bay Area and umpires for the Almaden Valley Girls Softball League.

After graduation Jenna wants to work for a local magazine (maybe even an online publication) to further her writing skills and get more experience in the field.  Jenna's ideal job would be working for a sports magazine.
