Stacy MacLean Rollo
Stacy is a public relations and communications consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area. Before her recent move into consulting, Stacy spent nine years with Gap Inc. where she served as director of corporate communications. In this role she ran the media relations function for the corporate office and served as the key spokesperson for crisis, reputation and financial programs for the Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy brands. She was an account executive when Tehama Group Communications first started and later served as its general manager.
Kelly has more than 10 years of marketing communications and public relations experience spanning consumer technology, e-commerce, and the food and beverage industry. Currently, Kelly is vice president of Porter Novelli San Francisco where she provides senior-level strategy, counsel and program management for the HP Home & Home Office Store (hpshopping.com) and Wells Fargo Home Equity. While at Chico, Kelly spent one year with Tehama Group Communications, acting as the editor for one semester. She also provided public relations support to CAVE.
Valerie is director of corporate and issues management, and global communications for Starbucks Coffee Co. She oversees corporate and crisis communications. Before Starbucks, Valerie spent six years directing community and media relations for the NBA’s Seattle SuperSonics and WNBA’s Seattle Storm. Her public relations experience also includes six years with Westin Hotels & Resorts and in 1996, she promoted the Westin Hotel in Atlanta during the Centennial Olympic Games. She wrote for The Orion and was involved with IABC while at Chico State.
Dr. Sharon Yoder
Dr. Yoder, professor emerita, taught in the department from 1987 until her retirement in 2003. For seven of those years, she served as adviser to Tehama Group Communications. Dr. Yoder also taught introductory through advanced public relations courses in the option, journalism ethics and mass media writing. In her practitioner years before teaching, she was university relations director at the University of Missouri-Columbia and director of state and community relations at the University of Michigan.
