Josselin Basaldu

Josselin BasalduJosselin is a barely 22-year-old graduating senior receiving a degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a degree in French. She is a mass media practitioner in every sense. She has been an opinion/features staff writer for The Orion, written, copy-edited, done public relations, taken and edited published photos, filmed, done video interviews and marketing for Synthesis Weekly, part of The Synthesis Network.

She has used her French abilities to translate in an interview with David Coverdale and Doug Aldrich of Whitesnake for Metallian Magazine based out of France.

She is currently searching for media/communications employment in the Miami area and looks forward to experiencing a new, vibrant, warm, international environment. Yeah for efficient public transportation!

Nicole Benbow

Nicole BenbowNicole Benbow is currently a sophomore majoring in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in recreation and park management. 

She has been active in the International Association of Business Communicators chapter, Associated Students Public Relations Council and Associated Students Retention Outreach and Development Council. 

Nicole loves to travel and plans to study abroad in Italy spring 2009.

Brittany Bledsoe

Brittany BledsoeBrittany Bledsoe is a senior majoring in journalism with an emphasis in news-editorial and a minor in international relations. She is a staff photographer for The Orion this semester and will be graduating in fall 2008.

After graduation she plans on traveling for a while and pursuing her passion for photography.

Christina Bullock

Christina BullockChristina is a writer with an editor’s eagle eye. She always seems to detect mistakes whatever the media, be it a newspaper article, print advertisement, poster or flier.

After four years at Chico State, she is graduating Magna cum laude with a degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a history minor. She will start her writing/editing job search in earnest upon her return from an exhilarating cruise to Italy, Greece and Turkey in June 2008.

Kelly Dolcini

Kelly DolciniKelly is a 23-year-old senior majoring in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in women’s studies. She is excited to graduate in May 2008.

In addition to working on Cat Bytes, Kelly is also a program coordinator in the AS Women’s Center. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in women’s health.

In her spare time she enjoys cycling, reading, spending time with her friends and taking advantage of Bidwell Park’s many swimming holes.

Megan Foster

Megan FosterMegan Foster is a journalism major with an emphasis in news-editorial, and plans to graduate in the spring of 2009 after studying abroad in Alicante, Spain. She looks forward to taking in a very different culture and learning Spanish during her time there.

Megan's career goal is to work for an agricultural publication, or be in a position that allows her to use the skills she has learned at Chico State in an agriculture-related job.

Emily Hopkins

Emily HopkinsEmily is a senior majoring in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in psychology. She is looking forward to graduation in May 2008 to pursue a career in the public relations industry.

Andrea McDonald

Andrea McDonaldAndrea is a senior at Chico State and will graduate in May 2008 with a bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in sociology.

When not studying, Andrea spends most of her time hanging out with friends and family, shopping and reading. She also devotes a lot of time working for TGC, Chico State's student-run PR agency.

Marcia Miller

Marcia MillerMarcia is a junior at Chico State. She is a journalism major with an emphasis in public relations and  plans to graduate in spring 2010.

She will attend Brighton Univesity in England in fall 2008 to gain a broader perspective of the media and to study travel writing. After she graduates, Marcia hopes to practice public relations in the music or magazine industries and travel often.

Lindsey North

Lindsey NorthLindsey plans on graduating in May 2009 with a bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in news-editorial and a minor in cinema studies. This semester she has worked as a staff photographer on The Orion and hopes to continue her work on the newspaper during the next year.  

Lindsey holds three associate degrees from Sierra College in multimedia communications, liberal arts and humanities. She is passionate about sports and hopes to work for a newspaper's sports staff in the Bay Area after graduation.

Ashley Paul

Ashley PaulAshley is graduating from Chico State in May 2008 with a degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations.

She has minors in psychology and child development. This semester she was the production director for Tehama Group Communications, which is Chico State’s student-managed public relations agency.

After graduation, Ashley is moving to Sacramento to begin a career in public relations.

Christy Pryde

Christy PrydeChristy is graduating in May 2008 with a double major in journalism with an emphasis in news-editorial and Latin American studies, with a minor in Spanish.

She was a copy editor for The Orion in spring 2008 and studied abroad in Merida, Mexico, in fall 2005, where she had an internship working for a museum. After graduation she hopes to find work as a copy editor that will let her stay in Chico.

Anna Reynoso

Anna ReynosoAnna Reynoso is a journalism major with an emphasis in public relations and two minors in health services administration and Spanish.
She is an intern for the School of International and Graduate studies. She is an active member of the Study Abroad office and participates in the mentor program.

Anna will be graduating May 2008 and plans to return to the Bay Area, where she hopes to work in the health care industry.

Mackenzie Seaman

Mackenzie SeamanMackenzie Seaman is majoring in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in sociology. She is enthusiastic about graduating in December 2008 and plans to pursue a career in the public relations industry. In addition to working on Cat Bytes, Mackenzie is currently the public relations director for Innovative Preschool, helping to plan their 20th anniversary musical event.

Lesley Silva

Lesley SilvaLesley is a senior at Chico State majoring in journalism with a minor in marketing.

In the summer of 2007, she interned in the external events department at Pacific Gas and Electric Company and plans on returning for the summer of 2008. She looks forward to graduating in December 2008 and starting her career.

In her free time Lesley likes hiking, the outdoors, yoga, watching movies and spending time with her loved ones.

Nicole Williams

Nicole WilliamsNicole is an honors student majoring in journalism with an emphasis in news-editorial and a minor in psychology. After graduating in May 2009, she hopes to join the Peace Corps and establish a nonprofit women's organization abroad. Nicole aspires to one day be an international reporter and global human rights advocate, but for now is focused on volunteering for Catalyst Domestic Violence Shelter, interning at the AS Women's Center and acting as features editor of The Orion in fall 2008.

Since studying abroad in Australia, Nicole has developed a love for traveling. She also enjoys playing basketball, scuba diving and partaking in a variety of extreme adventures, such as bungee jumping, skydiving, hiking, glacier climbing and anything else that tests the limits.

Sarah Worrell

Sarah WorrellSarah is a news-editorial major in her fifth year at Chico State. She will be graduating and leaving Chico in May 2008, and will be finishing up her last class at CSU, East Bay in the fall.

Sarah has written for The Orion for one semester for the entertainment section, but thinks she may eventually pursue a career in public relations instead. She has always loved writing, but enjoys a more creative style.

In January Sarah will be moving to China to teach English, which she hopes will give her some insight into what she wants to do with the rest of her life.

Shannon York

Shannon YorkShannon is a senior at Chico State planning to graduate in May 2009 with a journalism degree with an emphasis in public relations. She also has a minor in environmental studies and has been involved with a variety of environmental organizations, events and programs on campus.

Shannon founded an animal rights group called Chico For Animal Rights (C-FAR) at Chico State in the fall of 2007 and has also dedicated many hours to volunteering at Farm Sanctuary, the Chico Cat Coalition and the Butte Humane Society.

Shannon has been a proud vegetarian for more than eight years and has recently become vegan. She hopes to devote her professional life to the well-being of animals and the environment.

Nicole Zongus

Nicole ZongusNicole is a senior double majoring in journalism with an emphasis
in pubic relations, and recreation administration, with an emphasis in special
events planning. She will graduate in May 2008 and hopes to move
back to the Bay Area to find a job applying both her public relations and
special events planning skills.

While at Chico State she has been involved in
student government affairs, numerous university and student government
committees and councils, her sorority, and volunteering in the community.
