One step closer to the Mile High Club By Stacey Williams stawill@csuchico.edu   Every inch of me tingled as the excitement ran through my body. My heart started beating faster and faster. I had the power at that moment to control every move. I felt as if I could do anything. My dream was finally becoming reality as the plane slowly lifted off the ground. Learning to fly no longer has to be an unattainable dream. It is as simple as learning to drive a car and studying for a final exam. With a little hard work and some hard-earned money, the dream of flying can come true for anyone. When I was a little girl I used to look up every time I heard the loud engine of a plane flying by. Those of us in Chico have all heard that noise in our little town. Many of us have even been to the airport north of town. Those who haven't need to make that trip. Seeing the planes, hearing the rumble of the engines and imagining you are the one taking off into the blue clear sky will give you the ambition you need to get started. The question may be, why would someone want to fly? Flying is not only a skill but a passion. Flying is an exhilarating achievement that makes your palms sweat and your heart beat faster than you could ever imagine. Besides that overwhelming feeling you get, the convenience of flying is unreal. Once you learn to fly you can take a trip for the weekend, take a friend or date out to dinner or give the ultimate Chico tour with the perfect view.  The benefits are endless. The final reason you should learn to fly is to be able to join the exclusive Mile High Club. What an honor!       So what is the next step? Schools and Instructors How much time and money?
