A lazy Saturday in Boston has you and eight of your
friends sitting around the house with nothing to do. While
some might break out monopoly, DTox (his nickname) and
fellow Bostonians, took to the streets with $100, a van
and a love for watersports. A short stint of searching soon found our lads in the
presence of someone who would share their love of
watersports, a person that, with a little compensation,
would be willing to engage in some aquatic endeavors in an
unlikely location. Say, for example...a drainage stream. After a short bit of bargaining, the agreement was
made for the "Urban Boston Summer Olympic Aquatic Games."
This man would execute a short jump and swim to the shore of
the stream. The athlete, valiant and brave, prepared himself
by removing his jacket and shoes. With a few deep breaths
and a yelp of excitement, he struggled through the challenges
of the event, including a slow-moving stream and a host
of bacteria that we can only speculate on the nature of. After rejoicing, the cash prize was awarded. A medal,
however, could not be given because of speculation of drug
use prior to the event. Wracking the Boston athletic
community to the foundation, we can only hope that DTox and
his crew can muster the morale to continue in their
endeavors.
