Meet the staff
Managing Editor
Kyle Geller plans on graduating in spring 2007 with a major in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in business administration marketing. After college, he wants to work for a professional sports organization eventually working his way up to a management position.
Webmaster
Zuri Berry is a senior journalism major. He's also a transfer student and has an associate of arts degree from City College of San Francisco. In addition to writing for the campus newspaper, The Orion, Berry has also written for the Oakland Tribune, Vallejo Times-Herald and City College's The Guardsman. He'll be graduating spring 2007.

Lindsay Pavao is currently enjoying her senior year at Chico State and finally being 21-years old. She is a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and on the executive council as Public Relations Vice President. She's majoring in journalism with an emphasis in public relations with a minor in psychology. She doesn't know what her future holds, but whatever she does, she knows she'll love the job. In her spare time she enjoys the snow, shopping online, Myspace, being lazy and a good Bloody Mary.
Chris Vongsarath senior graduating in Spring 2007 with a degree in journalism and a minor in history. I also work on The Orion staff as a news reporter and will be on the features section next semester. Chris also enjoys reminiscing about the 80s, a decade he calls "glorious."
Design Editors
Simona Gallegos is a journalism major and senior at Chico State. She has served two terms on the campus newspaper The Orion and completed a summer internship at the Ventura County Star. She enjoys reading Henry Miller novels and good-old-fashioned rock-and-roll.
Colin Thompson is a journalism major at Chico State. He's also a staff writer for Chico State's The Orion. He plans to graduate in spring 2007 and has no idea what he's going to do after that. He could use a drink and a hug right about now.
Danielle Lynn is a senior at Chico State with a double-major in journalism and spanish. She's studied in six countries and plans to continue her travels after graduating by pursuing a career internationally.
Caroline Loomis is a senior at Chico State and a journalism-public relations major with a minor in spanish. She'll be studying in Bilbao, Spain in the spring to concentrate on learning Spanish and will graduate in spring 2007.
Jackie Donnelly is in her third year at Chico State. She is a journalism major and is also studying for a minor in economics. After graduating in spring 2008, she hopes to be working for a sports firm in the Bay Area.
Karen McIntyre is a journalism major and will graduate in spring 2007 after five years at Chico State. She currently works for the Chico Enterprise-Record and hopes to become a reporter for the newspaper after graduation.
Photo Editors
Kevin Snyder is a senior at Chico State and is majoring in journalism with an emphasis in news editorial. After graduating in spring 2007 he intends to move to the Bay Area and look for work at various publications.
Danielle Salvato is a journalism major with an emphasis in public relations. She'llbe graduating in spring 2007. After graduation, she plans to work and live in California!
Graphic Editors
Max Rowe is a senior graduating in spring 2007 with a degree in journalism-news editorial with a minor in History. Rowe is currently interested in entering the world of online journalism after he graduates and will most likely continue with his schooling, going for second degree in computer science. Emory Fuqua was born in San Jose, Calif. She attended San Diego State University for two years prior to transferring to Chico State in fall 2005. She is in her fifth year in college, majoring in journalism with an option in public relations and a minor in sociology. In May 2007, Fuqua will graduate from Chico State. She will also be a certified wedding planner. Emory’s future goals are to move out of Chico, start a family and be an event planner or a public relations director.
Copy Editors
Kristina Gingras is a fifth-year senior at Chico state majoring in journalism-public relations. She loves writing, photography and dance. She holds a first-degree black belt in Kenpo karate and played golf on Chico State's women's golf team. After graduating in spring 2007, she plans on moving back home to the Bay Area to pursue a career in public relations or sales.
Matt Mcfarland is a senior and will be graduating in May of 2007 with a Journalism degree in news-editorial. He's looking to be a copy editor, preferably for an online publication or the online side of a print publication. His hobbies include playing bass guitar in a local blues band and playing roller hockey in a recreational league.
Amber Strandberg is in her senior year at Chico State. She is majoring in journalism with an option in public relations. She is also receiving a minor in psychology. After college, Amber hopes to work for a well-known public relations firm.
Sharon Marie Yep is a junior majoring in journalism news-editorial with minors in linguistics and psychology. She spends the rest of her time working as the managing editor for The Orion, Chico State's award-winning weekly newspaper. Her dream job would be to travel around the country working night shifts as a copy editor for major newspapers.
