The possibilities seem endless,
but they aren't. There are still plenty
of things like gold fish and boob jobs that can't be purchased over the
Internet. But since the stork delivered the little creation, this world
wide web baby has come a long way. Today we can buy condoms, pizza and
toilet paper without leaving our homes.
But the Internet has blessed this population with more than couch immobility, it has given us the opportunity to stay off the telephone. Instead of being put on hold or waiting in long lines, you can plan your life in your favorite pair of flannel pajamas. Since we can explore the world from our pjs, people have the opportunity to check out what it would be like to plan a cruise through the historic Greek isles or through the warm, blue Caribbean Sea. It's possible to custom build a car to fit your needs, order tickets to a baseball game or a Broadway musical, or plan a camping trip across the nation or 20 minutes from your backyard. Using the Internet to map out your next vacation, an evening out, or to build your dream car is a great way to build a virtual life - or a real one. |
