Ten bucks a month will do the trick
Lose
10 pounds in a month! Wow, doesn't that sound easy?
And eDiets.com guarantees it if members follow their diet guidelines and exercise plans. The Web site supplies the shopping list, exercise regimen, a printable journal, and daily meetings on various health and diet topics. But members have to supply the effort. The Web site allows people to weigh in once a week and track how many pounds have melted away. They even have a bar graph that shows how much weight has been lost each week, at what stage the member is at each weigh-in, and the long-term goal. But is it really worth the $10 each month? Some might say yes. Others would say no. Maybe the $10 out-of-pocket is enough to motivate a person to get online each day and attend the chats, but will it still get lazy-butts off their heavy tooshes to take a walk or ride their bike? A lot of the motivation comes from within. This can be done either for free at other sites or in person with more visual motivators. With a little bit of personal willpower and self-motivation, dieting can be done with a bunch of friends. Workout with each other every day and make sure everyone is getting the right amount of food and nutrients. |
| Easy, right?
Sadly, not everyone can do this. For some it takes a more strict approach and if going to weekly meetings is too time consuming and doesn't fit into a daily schedule, it's nice to be able to come home, sit in front of the computer and print up the shopping list of the week. It's also helpful to know the records are kept online and can be looked at whenever needed. There are no crazy papers to be lost. Any diet program can be a success-- it depends on the specific program and the person who uses it. eDiets was asked to comment on their success as an online
diet program but couldn't be reached.
