Finding that rare Pokemon card or Pieter Bruegel painting might be easier than you once thought. Online auctions carry a wider variety of items than any Wal-Mart or Macy's and are probably easier to peruse than any department store.

Within the comforts of your own home, you can find anything you may need, whether it be Belgian chocolates from a goat farmer in the Himalayas or rare Waterford Crystal napkin holders from a bartender in Ireland.

The only boundaries with online auctions are the items for sale and common sense on the bidders' part. Not only can you shop 'til you drop (or your computer overheats), you can sell everything your own, including the kitchen sink. Why mess with spring cleaning yard sales when you can easily sell your unwanted goods online to people who may be willing to pay a lot more than it's worth?
