Sitting in first grade class, Kristen McHenry leans up against her desk, hugging her Sesame Street lunchbox, waiting for lunch to begin. Sixteen years later, she can still be seen waiting eagerly for class with her Sesame Street lunchbox.

McHenry, 22 and a junior at Chico State University, likes to visit online auctions such as Ebay and look for things she had as a child. Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony and Sesame Street items are among the few things she enjoys looking at.

"These are things I would never normally go out and look for in Chico. Whenever I see things I used to have when I was a kid, they're usually really expensive," said McHenry. "They remind me of the good times I used to have a as a kid and how much toys and kids have changed since I was in elementary school."

Among the items McHenry has purchased are Sesame Street lunchboxes and CDs. McHenry also likes to look at Dave Matthews Band and other music-related items.

"I bought a Snoop Dogg CD there for about half of what I'd get it for at the store," said McHenry. "It wasn't a new CD, but it was new to me and I love it."

McHenry said she has never had a problem with buying items from people she doesn't know, but she does get upset when people "hog" items.

"It makes me mad when I want something and when I bid, I'm automatically outbid and I doubt the person is actually sitting at his computer waiting for me to bid," said McHenry. "So, after getting frustrated, I try to find another person selling it and that same person is buying it. It's the most frustrating thing in the world and there's nothing I can do about it, unless I want to pay a fortune for something that's only worth $8."

She's always looking for good deals, but she said her there's no limit to items from her childhood.

"OK, so maybe I splurge every so often on an item that I know that is overpriced, but it's something that brings me joy and brings back great memories, how can I put a price on that?" said McHenry.
