They were two of the most difficult days of my life. I didn't eat
for 38 hours. I couldn't sleep. I was devastated and I couldn't
believe it was happening to me.
Heartbreak, denial and rejection are three things I just didn't
understand.
How can someone continue with his or her everyday life while trying
to forget something that may have happened just a few hours ago?
The Internet can be a helpful tool in mending a broken heart. Web
sites such as AboutYourBreakup.com and Gabriella's Lovepage have
excellent advice, message boards and more.
Beware. Not all sites are reputable. Many sites seem untrue, however,
most sites are maintained by normal people who have stories to tell
and advice to give.
"I designed AboutYourBreakup.com because I went through heartbreak
of my own," said Tigress, the site's creator.
One way to recover from a heartache might be to laugh at the situation.
Breakupgirl.com offers a humorous look at heartache.
"Breakup girl is the only superhero whose domain is love -
or lack thereof - and who mends broken hearts worldwide with the
help of the worldwide web," said creator Lynn Harris.
No matter where your search for heartbreak recovery takes you, you'll
find entertainment in the amount of knowledge on the Internet.
Free Help
The best way to recover from heartache is to talk it out. Although
most students are unaware the Psychological Counseling Center offers
free counseling services to students at Chico State University.
Students must come into the Psychological Counseling Center in Meriam
Library Room 141 to complete some paperwork before the first appointment.
The paperwork takes about 10 minutes to 15 minutes to complete.
