Stormy's off Broadway Bar and Grill, which opened in 1996, is one of Chico's smaller venues, but it features live music five days
per-week and provides a comfortable setting that lets the audience get up close and personal with the musicians.  The club is 21 and over and offers a full bar.
 

    "We provide an intimate atmosphere and a homey kind of feeling," said owner Dean Kaveney.  "It's like you're sitting in a chair at your house watching a band rock out."
 

    Known especially as a jam band, jazz and folk haven, Stormy's is open to many stylistic forms of music and has seen a wide array of local and out-of-town bands over the years. 
 

    "We're pretty much the mad chemist shop of Chico," Kaveney said.  "We have a lot of up-and-coming bands experiment by playing at our club.  They kind of use Stormy's to test the audience and to see if they will go over well here in town."
