Hello Mother...Hello Father
Here I am...at Chico State
School is very educating, I would have more fun if my roommate stopped complaining.

She walked into the room with her boyfriend from high school.  Prom pictures, a homecoming crown and cheerleading pom-poms decorated the room.  The "I was the most popular girl in high school" attitude was definitely in the air.
My first question was: "How was I chosen to live with her?"  As I was unpacking my stuff, I thought back to when I filled out my roommate-preference questionnaire.  Did I put that I wanted to live with a superficial snob? Meghan and I were going to spend nine looooong months together in a Whitney Hall dormroom during our freshman year of college.  Not only was the room the size of a shoe box, but her assortment of clothes, makeup, perfume and her boyfriend, clearly took up the majority of it.
I never had to share a room in my life.  I loved sports, traveling and going to the gym.  What was I going to talk about with this girl?  As the first few days of school passed, Meghan and I hardly spoke.  It wasn't until a catastrophe - she couldn't find her matching pair of Unisa shoes - that we bonded.  I found the other shoe for her and something clicked.  I didn't think that we would be great friends, but I knew we would be able to live together.
As the year progressed, I taught Meghan a little more about working out than just doing toe touches.  We actually became running partners.  In turn, she taught me a little about the fashion industry and how to do my make-up.
Living with Meghan was definitely a learning experience.  I learned how to cooperate, try new things and accept people for who they are.  Meghan and I ended up being great friends and we have lived together for four years now.
