BMU web camera

Of the four Web cameras at Chico State, the Bell Memorial Union cam is the only one that is goal-oriented.
Jeff Jaxon, the e-commerce coordinator for AS. ComputerWorks developed the project to promote the bookstore's Web page. The BMU cam is protected by an ice chest that sits on the roof of the BMU. Unlike any of the other Web cams, the BMU cam is saving images of the BMU construction in order to create a time-lapse video at the end of construction.
The camera has been taking pictures every five minutes since before construction began in November 1998.
"It was something that I thought about doing to promote our Web site and answer a lot of questions about the construction," Jaxon said.
The time lapse, along with a still frame archive, are part of the project that cost under $200 dollars.
