The first time I tried using an
MP3, I almost had a nervous breakdown. My friend told me
I could get all the free music I wanted on the Internet,
so I figured it was worth a shot. Now that I know what
I'm doing, it was definitely worth it. But if you are new
to MP3s and you don't have help, you're in for a long
day.
When I first started, I didn't know of
any sites where I could get songs, so I punched up MP3 on
my search browser and found thousands of sites. The
problem with this is that 99 percent of those searches
don't work, or require passwords or money for the songs.
I must have searched four, or five hours before I ever
downloaded my first song, and it wasn't even a song I
liked. It was some old Willie Nelson song that I didn't
need a password to download (I wonder why).
Finally, after talking to a friend who
knew what he was doing, I found some sites that gave me
free music. Six months later, I have more than 500 songs
on file. The trick to MP3s is having patience and using
sites that have updated archives. Before you know it,
you'll have more music than you and your computer can
handle.
