The chart below is not an exhaustive list, but it provides a price range of DVD Video players (also called set top DVD players, to imply they belong on top of a television set) available in Chico . When looking to purchase a DVD Video player, decide whether you want one with DIVX capability. Also pay attention to the features listed for each player. Sometimes a store will list a feature such as multilingual support for a specific player, when all DVD players will support multiple languages when a specific DVD Video has that option. Circuit City, Costco, Computers Plus and Office Max (and other local stores with computer products) carry DVD-ROM players. DVD-ROM players can be purchased either already installed in midrange to high-end computers, or they come separately. These range in price from about $150 and up. Make sure to note whether the DVD-ROM player you want to purchase will work with your computer. Also pay attention to speed (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, 6X) and what generation the player is. Some people may tell you that speed and generation are the same, but they are not. Also find out whether you need to buy an MPEG-2 decoder card separately.  |
