Meriam Library web camera

In the dimly-lit Instructional Media Center, there is a maze of wiring, computers are everywhere and fast-pace people are using high-tech programs. But in this technological wet dream, there are no windows.
Chris Ficken, creative services supervisor for the Instructional Media Center, checked out his Web camera project on the Web site from where he works. When he looked at the image displayed in his browser, he turned to a coworker and said, "It's partly cloudy outside."
Ficken set up the Web cam on the second floor of Meriam Library when he found an old surveillance camera. The camera updates an image on the web every five seconds and also sends a real-time video feed out to classrooms on campus.
"We work in a basement and I always wanted a window," Ficken said.
Ficken's project is one of four working Web cams on campus. So, if the thought of Big Brother watching is frightening, consider where these three Web cams are and change your daily routine.
