College students to blame for millions of dollars lost to "free music"

College students are always getting blamed for something. People say we're lazy and dumb. They say we cheat and disrespect authority. According to many, the decay of society is our fault. Well, now college students across the country are being blamed for something that has them smiling with a "not as dumb as you thought" twinkle in their eyes--the destruction of the music industry.

According to the music business's target demographic, 18 to 24 year olds are costing the $12 billion-a-year music industry millions of dollars in revenue by getting free music off the Internet courtesy of the new music player MP3.
