Fun, fun, fun, 'til daddy takes the keyboard away Forbidden love. Vic and Heather were like Romeo and Juliet with a twist. At least no one died. When Vic and Heather met, they were hearing bells and seeing fireworks even though 2,000 miles were between them. They thought they had found the love of their lives in a chat room. Vic was 18 and lived in Illinois. Heather was 20 and lived in California. They chatted online for a month, and then they spoke on the phone. The first call lasted nine hours. "I knew that I had fallen in love with something straight from heaven," Vic said. Teddy bears and flowers were the chosen trinkets of love exchanged between the two. "We had something that was sacred, even if it was something that was from the Internet," Vic said. This story is absent of a happy ending though. Heather's father found out about the relationship and ended it with the threat of filing charges against Vic, and Heather was shipped off to American Samoa. Although the relationship only lasted four months, Vic knows he was deeply in love with Heather. "I have dated a lot of women," he said. "And I can honestly say that I never felt that before or since." |
