National coverage of Orionites' trip to Va. Tech
In April of 2007 three journalists from The Orion traveled to Blacksburg, Va., to get a student perspective on the April 16 massacre at Virginia Tech. Reporters Ashley Gebb, Karen McIntyre and photographer David Flannery posted stories, blog reports and photos on The Orion Online from Virginia and helped put together a story package for The Orion on their return (see the archived stories and slide show).
Their efforts are highlighted in two College Media Advisers publications:
- College Media Review, "Dark Days & Lessons Learned" (pdf – pp. 13-15)
- College Media newsletter (pdf – p. 3)
