Interns pamper spa

By Shelby Hollister

Spa PiermanSpa Pierman is a community business known for pampering its clients, however, the business needed a little public relations rejuvenation itself.

Spa Pierman is a Dermalogica skin care haven and day spa that offers services ranging from facials to massages. Located in a low traffic area, Tehama Group Communications was hired to creatively promote the spa in the community and help build a larger clientele.

“I wanted to make a sub-menu for a bridal faire and take advantage of the PR opportunity,” said April Pierman, owner of Spa Pierman. “ It was very cost effective.”

TGC staff created a brochure that explains the services the spa offers and also drafted a letter to local businesses that would help with networking and referrals for the spa. TGC staff targeted different businesses such as fitness centers, bridal shops and dentist offices to build relationships in the community. TGC strategically selected certain businesses because of the services they offer their clientele and relationship to the spa.

Spa Pierman“The girls were very professional, detail oriented and involved with all the ideas,” Pierman said. “I was very satisfied.”

TGC members learned skills that they can apply to their future careers through their work with the spa.

“Helping the spa expand its business by creating relationships within the Chico community was a valuable experience for TGC and the spa,” said Shannon Prior, TGC account executive.
