Organizations with Local Chapters
The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)
is a worldwide organization made up mostly of individuals in the public relations and communication fields. IABC encourages students to become involved with its organization through their local student chapter on campus.
The California State University, Chico chapter provides support, guidance and experiential opportunities for its members. IABC invites communications and public relations professionals to speak at its weekly meetings, encourages members to become involved in one of the group's many committees, and also participates in a mentor program that teams up students with their real-world professional counterparts. Other activities include fundraisers and socials.
Members receive IABC's magazine Communication World. IABC is a great way to meet people in your major, make friends, gain extracurricular experience, and network with people who are working in the field.
