Their historically rooted synagogue embraces a diverse membership of Jews from all backgrounds, as well as those exploring Judaism. Rabbi Julie Hilton Danan joins our meetings once a month, teaches Judaism and Hebrew at Chico State , and welcomes Hillel students to weekly services as well as high holiday celebrations. |

on campus to spread our word and information around, we have monthly
Shabbat dinners, guest speakers, Rosh Chodesh (new moon) disscussion
groups, ocassional films and cultural events as well. We celebrate
Jewish holidays together and have a student Seder for Passover.

The Chico Havurah was formed in the summer of 2003 to give Jews in Chico an alternative to the traditional Jewish synagogue experience. Their con greg ants strive to create an atmosphere of "joyful community", study of Torah, democratic process, and enhancement of spirituality through tikkun olam by doing their part to repair the world. |
