BEGINNING PUNCTUATION OF TITLES

Delete all punctuation that comes at the beginning of a title and change the non-filing indicator to reflect the change:

Examples:

change to:

245 10 And ladies of the club

245 15 "The time has come...

change to:

245 14 The time has come...

As you can see, if there are quotation marks, remove them from the beginning and end of the title. If there is end punctuation other than quotation marks, you may leave that in.

Make these changes on new records coming from OCLC and records in CLSI.
