Name Fields (100, 110, 111, 600, 610, 611,
700, 710, 711)
Check to make sure the appropriate names are in 245 $c and that all names that should be traced are traced. Refer those records that do not trace names you think should be traced.
Title Fields (130, 240, 245, 246, 630, 730, 740)
--Check titles on record that are traced and make sure they are acounted for in some way, both on the record and in the book.
--Check all titles that appear on or in the book and make sure they are accounted for on the record e.g. cover title, spine title, original language title of translation, etc.)
--CHECK THE NON-FILING INDICATOR (1ST INDICATOR IN 7XX, 8XX, 6XX FIELDS, 2ND INDICATOR IN 245)
Series (4xx fields)
--Make sure that if there is a series statement in book that it appears in the exact same form in a 4xx field.
--If there is a 4xx on record, check to make sure that you can find the series listed in the book.
--CHECK NON-FILING CHARACTER (1ST INDICATOR 8XX FIELDS, 2ND INDICATOR 440)
Refer book to series shelf if these criteria are not met. If there is an also an 8xx field check for proper tagging.
Contents Note
Since information in 505 fields will, with CLCAT, be indexed for key word searches, it will be important to check for typos in the 505 field. Punctuation for separating entries is not important (except for Contents Note Enhancement Project).
