Services Provided:
Meriam Library’s Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a cooperative service for CSU,Chico
faculty, staff, and students for borrowing books and acquiring copies of articles
from journals that the library does not own or have acess to online. Interlibrary
Loan reciprocates by lending books and sending copies of articles from its collections
to other institutions.
Employee Classification: 
Student Employee I & II
• Number of Students Employed : 3 to 4
• Description of Duties :
Assist staff in locating and pulling materials from shelves;
charging out and checking in materials; photocopying and scanning;
preparing, packaging and labeling materials for shipment; preparing
incoming books and articles for patrons; some computing; light
clerical; other related duties as assigned.
• Experience Required : No
previous work experience required for Student Employee I and
II; however, good communication skills, experience with customer
service, capacity to work in fast paced/high volume environment
preferred; some typing and computer skills desirable.
Student Employee III
• Number of Students Employed : 1
• Description of Duties : All duties assigned Student Employee Is and IIs,
plus supervision and training of workers in the absence of staff; opening and
closing office; some processing of Interlibrary Loan requests and materials;
other related duties as assigned.
• Experience required : Student Employee IIIs are promoted
from within the unit.
Work Hours:
Student employees work a minimum of 10 hours/week to a maximum of 20 hours/week.
Work shifts are limited to hours of operation, see library
hours for detail.
