Provided:
The Special
Collections department of the Meriam Library is a unique
regional resource of written and pictorial materials, which
document the historical, as well as contemporary, issues of
the 12-county region of northeastern California.
Special Collections comprises various collections which are
housed together in a non-circulating, secured area of the library
because of the materials rarity, source, condition, or
format, and can be used only in the Special Collections reading
room. These collections are available to faculty, staff, students,
visiting scholars, and community members. Employee Classification:
Student Employee I & II
Number of Students Employed : 2 to 4 
Description
of Duties : Assist patrons by retrieving
books and other materials from storage and accurately
returning such to original location after use; shelf-reading
and shifting of collection; photocopying; some light
computer work; light clerical; other related duties as
assigned.
Experience Required : Previous library work, computer
experience and public interaction preferred. Students majoring
in history, geography and planning, and anthropology are encouraged
to apply.
Student Employee III (Supervisor)
Number of Students Employed: 1
Description of Duties : All duties assigned
to Student Employee I and II, plus some supervision of student
personnel and detailed work requiring greater attention to
accuracy; other related duties as assigned.
Experience required : Student
Employee IIIs are promoted from within the unit.
Work Hours:
Student employees work a minimum of 10 hours/week to a maximum of 20 hours/week.
Work shifts are limited to hours of operation, see library
