Opportunities

* There are many opportunities to receive additional funds that you may not be aware of. Grants & Scholarships can provide you with the information.

* Each year, CAVE places approximately 1600 volunteers in settings where they provide needed volunteer time, learn about the Chico community, help address pressing social and environmental needs, and develop skills to be effective citizens for years to come. CAVE (Community Action Volunteer Education)

* The benefits of participating in Camp Adventure Youth Services are numerous. The program provides an opportunity for college and university age students to gain valuable experience serving children and youth. Support is provided for living expenses, lodging, and transportation. In 1997, it sent approximately 600 students to 118 program sites in 16 countries, including England, Turkey, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Bahrain, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, People's Republic of China, Taiwan, and the United States. * There are multiple opportunities to study in a diverse array of cultures and countries. Programs include University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC), International Programs (IP), Chico exchange program, among others. It is possible to fulfill several Liberal Studies requirements as well as the Area of Concentration. Study Abroad

Suggested Electives

The Liberal Studies major contains anywhere from 105 units in the general pre-credential option to 124 units for the liberal studies - child development double major. Regardless of your choice of option you must complete at least 120 units to graduate. Included here are recommended electives that can complete credential prerequisites, prepare you for the CSET and teaching, as well as count towards the 120 units needed to graduate.
