Liberal Studies Online

FAQs

Can I get a teaching credential completely online?

If you are eligible to enroll in the CSU and you have completed your lower division coursework, it is possible to complete online almost all of the coursework required for a credential. In order to do this, enroll in Liberal Studies Online. After completing your undergraduate liberal studies degree through our program, you can work toward your teaching credential by enrolling in the CalStateTEACH program.

Can I enroll in Liberal Studies Online if I work full time?

Yes, this program is designed for students like you. Of course, each class you take requires a certain amount of time to complete within a semester. So don't overdo it. If you are working full time you probably will not be able to take a full 15 unit load (consisting of five 3 unit courses). You may be able to take only two or three courses during any given semester. In this case, it will take you longer to get the degree, but you will still be able to keep your present job.
